Troubleshooting

What to do when something doesn't work. Most issues fall into one of these buckets — find yours and follow the steps.

"The bot isn't responding"

Wait 30 seconds. Long requests (a full site rebuild, a complex blog post) can take a while. The bot will reply when it's done.

Still nothing? Try sending /start. If you get a response, the bot is up and your previous message just got lost.

No response at all? Two likely causes:

  • We're deploying an update. Bot maintenance is usually <2 minutes; just retry.
  • Your account is disabled (paused by an admin). The bot will tell you this explicitly if it's the case. Email us to reactivate.

"I sent a request and nothing changed on the site"

Three things to check:

  1. Did the bot acknowledge? Look at the chat — the bot replies before doing the work. No reply means the request didn't land.
  2. Is Cloudflare done deploying? Even after the bot commits, Cloudflare takes 30-90 seconds to publish. Refresh with cache busted (Cmd-Shift-R / Ctrl-Shift-R).
  3. Did the bot ship the change you meant? Ask "what was your last commit?" — the bot will tell you the most recent change.

"Sign-in to Nova Hub keeps failing"

  • Make sure you typed the right Telegram @handle on /signin. The bot will refuse the confirm if it doesn't match the account that clicks the deep link.
  • Make sure you're using the same Telegram account that signed up with the bot. Sign-in is per-account.
  • Are cookies blocked? Nova Hub uses an httpOnly session cookie. If your browser blocks all third-party cookies aggressively, you may need to allowlist hub.novabuildbot.com.
  • Did the link expire? Sign-in links are valid for 10 minutes. After that, just click Continue with Telegram again to mint a fresh one.

"I see an error message I don't understand"

Send the error directly to the bot — usually it can explain or fix it. If it can't, send /support and our team will pick it up.

"I tried to /connect Instagram and it says 'not linked'"

Your Instagram Business account needs to be linked to a Facebook Page you manage. See Connecting Instagram & Facebook for the linking steps.

"Where did the design go? My site looks different"

Two possible causes:

  1. Cloudflare cache. Hard-refresh (Cmd-Shift-R / Ctrl-Shift-R) to bypass the cache. If you used a custom domain, give it up to 5 minutes for the edge to settle.
  2. An agent changed something. Check Nova Hub → Agent activity for recent changes. If an agent shipped something you don't like, the bot can revert: "undo what the SEO agent did this morning".

"I want a refund / I want to cancel"

Just say it to the bot, or send /support. We'll get back within one business day. You keep your site repo and any data exports either way — no lock-in.

Still stuck?

/support in Telegram opens a ticket with our team. Or email hello@novabuildbot.com with as much context as you can.
